I'm a digital illustrator. I love drawing narratives, with historical or fantasy genres. I'm also very interested in working in graphic novels, board games, comics, and concept art.
Communication is one of my top priorities when working with clients. This includes doing research, giving options, and transparency.
Research starts at the very beginning of process, where my client and I talk about what exactly they want for project they're hiring me for. The research part is definitely when mine and the client's ideas start to merge together. Often I will ask for any references/photos/etc they have that will help getting a better idea of what they want during consultation, and I will add my previous knowledge as well to the table. This method ends with us feeling like we both put effort into the concept and so can be more satisfied with how the piece(s) look as I work on it.
Next once we've agreed on the concept and details, I draw out a few thumbnail options (between 3-5 depending on the piece and how many pieces I'll be making) and send them to the client to choose which one they prefer the best. This will also be the time when the client can ask for big changes while it's still in sketch stage.
I'm more than willing to show clients each step in my process, checking in with them to see how they feel about the project so far and if they should want something changed. I want to show my clients that they can put trust in me to know that I'm diligently working on their piece, and not embarrassed to show in-process work regardless of what state it's in.
I do give myself deadlines in order to organize myself, and to keep on top of all of my work. Regardless of my own deadlines, I do like to keep flexible and usually can work with other's schedules should they have deadlines of their own.
My art greatly mirrors my interests outside of work. I enjoy playing tabletop games, watching historical documentaries, and going to renaissance faires and conventions when I can. I also like taking hikes and camping, those breaks being great respite in order to keep away burnout and pace myself.
If you would like to connect or have any questions for me, please feel free to send me an e-mail.
